Apocalypse prevention for busy people.
You’re busy, and taking environmental action often slips down the to-do list. How can you make it a priority? Where do you start? Can one person even make a difference?
We definitely need big, systemic solutions (read: ambitious action by government and corporations), but part of changing the world is also changing the culture, creating the conditions for those bigger changes to be accepted. And culture? We make it, and we can change it.
In each newsletter, I’ll take a science-based look at one issue (sometimes the advice is surprising!), and I’ll set you up to do something that will make this world better. All you have to do is show up and pick from a menu of options for action. We don’t have to be radical to be everyday revolutionaries.
This newsletter won’t ask you to be perfect. It simply asks you to carve out five minutes (okay, sometimes ten . . . ) once a week to learn something, then (hopefully) run with the suggestions that work for you. You can do anything for five minutes, right?
Subscribing to this newsletter also makes you part of a community of people who are trying to live more in line with their values and trying to mainstream radical ideas like not turning the planet into a flaming trash heap. We’ll share wins, tips, and suggestions, and you won’t have to feel like you’re trying to avert the apocalypse alone.
This is a fight that needs all of us, and that needs us active, engaged, and ready to take no shit. We’re not just changing our own lives, we’re changing a culture so that we can give future generations of humans and plants and majestic sloths a planet that resembles the one we’ve gotten to experience. Maybe even a better one.
