I've been gifting to neighbours in my local Buy Nothing Project as I purge in preparation for a move. It's been awesome to find good homes from items (some that I've treasured) that I've had for years but no longer will have room for because I'm downsizing and combining households. I advertised a "basement giveaway" event but had more success posting individual items. My partner and I also sold some things on Kijiji.
